Each year, everyone involved in the Exchange Club of Sebastian works hard to pull together the Annual Blue Water Open Fishing for Charity Tournament. The profit earned from our Blue Water Open goes right back into our local community. These are just a few examples of where the funds go.
Community Giving
On March 10th we presented Officer Cliff Labbe with Indian River County Sheriff’s Department a check for $1000 for the new Radkids and Radwomens programs. Officer Labbe thanked our member SPD Officer Jason Gillette for helping him kick off this program. Funds will be used to “decorate” a sheriff’s vehicle with Radkids and Radwomens logos and updates will be posted on facebook. Officer Labbe said, “thank you for this generous donation.”
On March 10th our club received appreciation plaques from Susan Hunt of Youth Guidance and Jamie Labbe of the SRHS Wrestling team. Susan Hunt thanked us for our continued support to Youth Guidance and said it helps break the circle of poverty and encourage students to reach goals and become contributing citizens of Indian River County. Jamie Labbe said that our contribution to the SRHS Wrestling team helped them refurbish the wrestling room which also accommodates the county wrestling events for ages 6-18 in our community. She invited us to come and see the room at the open house to be held on Friday April 26th.
