In addition, the architectural design for the Heal Garden was presented. The Garden will be built on the same property as the CAC. Karen McElveen attended as a representative of the Exchange Club of Sebastian. As part of the program, Karen had the honor of presenting Sebastian Exchange’s donation of $10,000, making us the first to participate in their fundraising efforts for the Healing Garden. Based on this and other donations we’ve made, one of their counseling offices is dedicated in our honor (pictured above).

The CAC is dedicated to children of physical and sexual abuse as a consolidated place where all the services they need will be provided under one roof: a child protection team, victim advocates, medical assistance, mental health counselors, law enforcement and state attorney’s office. The center is designed to help children and families feel comfortable, safe and minimize trauma.

Guardians for New Futures and the new CAC serves the tri-county area: Indian River, St. Lucie, and Martin.
