The Sebastian Exchange Club was very busy over the holiday season, providing food and supplies for the Sebastian Ecumenical Food Pantry and providing gifts for a group of youngsters in the foster care program.
On December 5, Sebastian Exchange Club members gathered to deliver $1,500 worth of food, paper, and pet products purchased at Walmart to the Sebastian Ecumenical Food Pantry.
The Food Pantry provides boxes of provisions for a hearty meal each Thanksgiving and Christmas season to needy families in the community. This year, the donations from the Sebastian Exchange Club filled their needs for all of the Christmas holiday boxes. In addition, paper and pet products were given, since the demand is great and the Food Pantry is unable to purchase these with money donations.
The Ecumenical Food Pantry serves the community unselfishly to provide food for the needy. It is located on Roseland Road and donations are always welcome.
During the month of November, the Exchange Club of Sebastian collected toys and gift items for fifteen youths through the Guardians for New Futures organization. Each child was granted three gift wishes. Sebastian Exchange Club was privileged to participate in helping to provide gifts for these youngsters in the foster care system.
The Sebastian Exchange Club is committed to helping the community to be a better place to live. They focus primarily on youth and the prevention of child abuse, but also Americanism and community service.
These donations are made possible through the proceeds of the Sebastian Exchange Foundation’s Blue Water Open Charity Offshore Fishing Tournament, which will be held again this year on May 31 – June 1. Over $640,000 to-date has been raised by this event and poured back into the local community.
Sebastian Exchange Club welcomes community members who are interested in serving the community within a group setting. Consider joining them for lunch any Wednesday (except the first Wednesday of each month) at noon at Capt. Hiram’s.
