The Sebastian Exchange Club was proud to present 6 college scholarships to deserving Sebastian River High School graduating seniors on Thurs, April 18. Scholarship recipients are selected based on financial need, academic accomplishments, school accomplishments (organizations belonged to, leadership positions held,) teacher, counselor and employer recommendations, career goals, and employment while in high school.
Presentations were made by Rene Van DeVoorde, chairman of the Scholarship Committee to Kassandra Alvarez, Fahima Perez, Stephanie Giordano, Aimee Rone, Anthony Scaramuzzi, and Raegan O’Rourke. Each student received a $2,000 scholarship to be applied to the college of their choice.
The Alfred Perez award for $2000 was given to Fahima Perez. Thank you ”Rappy” for your generosity!
In the last four years, Sebastian Exchange Club has presented $42,000 to deserving high school seniors. We are very proud of being able to assist young people with college scholarships who may not otherwise be able to attend. Our scholarship fund is managed by Rene and is strong and healthy, making it possible for Sebastian Exchange to continue to provide scholarships into future years.
Thank you, Rene, for your terrific management efforts and for keeping this going! It’s just another way to show our commitment to our community.
